The line ran from Dayton to Covington and continued to Piqua. (Hence the name D C & P)

The D C & P ceased operation in 1926.
In 2012, road improvements were made south of the monument in Pleasant Hill. The road was dug to its foundation and replaced. While digging the road, the old rails were exposed and removed. The following pictures show the old traction line rails and ties.

In 2014, the road north of the monument will be reconstructed. The final rails will be removed.
